Color Science is where measurements and math meet the human factor.

Research is continually underway to refine our systems' attempts to describe the world as our eyes (and brains) see it.

Color Science ranges from physics and the measurement of light sources, reflective objects and human eye sensitivity through to perception in the eye and brain, how we see colors and how our eyes are fooled into seeing a wide range of colors when we simply mix a small number of lights (RGB) or inks (CMYK, etc). We model this interface between the physical and physiological worlds using equations and algorithms and try to explain complex issues with simple formulae (the holy grail of physicists and mathematicians everywhere).

Here we gather the math and theory of color in the hope that we can help further the understanding of scientists as far back as Newton and Maxwell and as recent and active as Fairchild.
